Told through the eyes of traveling stuffed animals, Cooper and his new friend (and travel guide) Kodi the Moose share stories and fun as they explore Alaska's unique sites. Cooper explores Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan, providing an informative overview of what it is like to visit there. Whether learning about glaciers or the history of Alaska, the story and entertaining format teaches both children and adults about Alaska's rich and beautiful offerings. The book includes an interactive education and activity section and over 100 hidden secrets (called buried bones”) which may be further explored in a coordinating iPhone/iPad application. The previous title in the Cooper’s Pack series features Seattle, and upcoming titles will include Paris and Bangkok.
About the Author
Brandon Rudd created the Cooper's Pack concept and characters after returning from a trip to Thailand in 2003. He began designing stuffed animals, creating logos and typesets, and inventing back-stories for the cast of characters. Drawing on his years of entrepreneurial ventures, Cooper slowly came to life in a world of stuffed animals traveling around the world, city by city.
Brandon has been writing his entire life and got his start when his 4th grade teacher on Bainbridge Island submitted Brandon's story to a Young Author's Conference. Through this experience Brandon continued on a path of a young aspiring author creating the Winslow Advertiser (an advert circulated on Bainbridge Island), Exhibition (a visual and literary arts magazine published on the island featuring many famous authors and artists including Brandon's teacher, David Guterson), and DB-Ski (a ski bus service consisting of 2 Greyhound busses). After securing his MBA, he founded Artistic Resources & Technology in 1996 (digital signs, wearable televisions, graphic design services, and even producer roles in Las Vegas shows).
