Rogers, Jean (1919-2013)
Jean Rogers started out as a 5th grade school teacher after two years at a teacher training college in Idaho. She was 19 when she started teaching. She loved teaching but after 2 years she went to UC Berkeley to finish her BA where she met and married George Rogers. She began writing seriously when the last of their six children were in high school. At that time, she "finally had time and energy for creative endeavor and the career I had planned since I first leaned to read and fell in love with books."
