Mandy R. Lindeberg

Mandy Lindeberg, a research biologist, has been conducting scientific research in Alaska since 1990.  Her passion for seaweeds began while working for the University of Alaska Fairbanks and continues with NOAA Fisheries (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations) in Juneau, Alaska.  Her reserach includes studies on intertidal invertebrates, seaweeds, bioavailability of contaminants in the nearshore, and coastal habitat mapping.  These projects have taken her all over Alaska and enabled her to develop a diverse knowledge of Alaska seaweeds, including the discovery of new kelp in the Aleutian Islands.  Along the way she developed a joy for photography, resulting in the majority of photos found in this book.
